Give a can, get a cut, manicure or pedicure during the month of November

Houston, Texas – (November 8, 2010) – Remington College North Houston, Houston and Houston Southeast Campuses are offering complimentary salon services – either a hair cut, manicure or pedicure – to people who bring in a can of food during the month of November.

The food collected will be given to local food banks.

“There are so many families struggling to make ends meet in our community,” said Lashundia Brooks, Remington College- Houston Campus President. “We want to help as many families as we can during the holidays and are offering some of our salon services in return for any canned food donation.”

Students in the Remington College cosmetology school will provide the salon services with supervision from their instructors.

In the Greenspoint area: Appointments can be made by calling the Remington College-North Houston Campus at 281-885-4490. The salon is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In the Westchase area: Appointments can be made by calling the Remington College-Houston Campus at 281-597-1000. The salon is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In the Webster area: Appointments can be made by calling the Remington College-Houston Southeast Campus at 281-554-1790. The salon is open Tuesday, Thursday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Wednesday 12:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Walk-ins are also welcome at all three locations.

The Remington College Cosmetology Program teaches students the art of hair, skin and nail care through traditional classroom instruction and hands-on training. Students have the opportunity to work with real clients in a salon-like setting.

Remington College-North Houston Campus (Greenspoint) is located at 11310 Greens Crossing, Suite 300 in Houston.

Remington College-Houston Campus (Westchase) is located at 3110 Hayes Rd., Suite 380 in Houston.

Graduation ceremony set for Friday, November 12

Shreveport, La. – (November 5, 2010) – Shreveport Mayor Cedric B. Glover will be the featured speaker at the Remington College-Shreveport Campus graduation ceremony this month.
