Diploma program trains students for commercial HVAC jobs

Memphis, Tenn. – (September 23, 2010) – Remington College-Memphis Campus is now enrolling students for its new Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Professional Diploma Program.

The HVAC Professional Diploma Program is an expansion of the HVAC Diploma Program, with additional classes that put an emphasis on commercial and industrial HVAC systems.

The program is designed to provide students with skills in the fundamentals and practice of the HVAC industry. Students can earn their HVAC Professional diploma in as little as 12 months.

The program covers the industry essentials, and courses include:

  • Intro to HVAC and Refrigeration
  • Commercial HVAC Systems
  • Industrial Refrigeration Systems
  • Commercial Heating Systems
  • Industrial Refrigeration Systems
  • Building Environment and Energy Management Systems

Throughout the courses, students will receive training established by the National Skill Standards for HVAC technicians.  While employment after graduation cannot be guaranteed, students who graduate from the Remington College HVAC Pro program may be qualified for a number of entry-level positions in the field.

“The HVAC Professional program provides in-depth training in HVAC systems through classroom instruction and hands-on training and is tailored to people who want to work in commercial applications,” said Dr. Lori May, Remington College-Memphis Campus President.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job prospects for heating and air- conditioning mechanics and installers are expected to be excellent. The increasing complexity of HVAC systems, as well as the need for replacement, is expected to create opportunities for service technicians. [i]
